Rockport
Rockport is the next town north of Gloucester, MA. As you can see, right on the Atlantic Ocean.
One place in particular is Bear Skin Neck. It has tons of the smallest shops you have ever seen,
stacked so close to each other you cannot walk between them. I have not counted the shops but there must be about 100.
Many artist studios are on the Neck, as they call it. The building were originally houses for the fishermen who fished in
small boats from Rockport. Mostly lobster boats are here now, as far as fishing goes.
Most of the folks who come down here in the summer have summer homes. Many natives live here year round. Some of the
small gift shops stay open year round, but 90% of them close for the winter on November 1st, and reopen in April or so.
The fishing is down to just lobsters, and that's a fairly good business. You can take live lobsters home with you, packed
in ice that will last 6 hours, or so they tell me.
Here are a few photos of the place, I hope you will enjoy them!
